home again…this time for a reason | personal

If any of you follow my blog you know I went home this week to my Grandfathers funeral. There are so many things that go through my head about this trip. Is it an end to a truly raw generation…and is that good or bad? I think a little of both. Although we should always remember where our roots are, our hearts were born to grow and fly. I think to some that was not an option in their mind. But on a VERY windy day, while my Dad was getting a haircut to say goodbye to his father for the last time, I walked around this town that my generations have had so many good and bad times and found a lot of beauty. I didn’t take too many pics due to the bone chilling weather, but you know what? In that extremely chilly I felt a heartbeat, not only of me but the town. I wish instead of watching small towns deplete we could breathe new life into them and revive the young to be motivated to just try out the TRUE American dream…living off the land. If if I cannot make that change I am still very proud to be from somewhere that maybe not many have heard of, but has and DOES make a difference in our lives. For THAT I forget about the terrible weather and know that I, if not from only being from there, have made a difference. So moral of the story is that is it an end of a raw generation? No, it is the pieces of the story that creates a new tale, one that one day maybe my grandchildren will write about as I am today.

Normally every summer when I come back this same nest had some new babies in it, since it is fall it was empty.

Thanks to my sister for snapping a few shots of me. I wish I had this spot here in AZ!

I guess I didn’t notice what the sign said above this next pictures window until now…normally it says “home is where your heart is” I have never seen it say this before though. Interesting how it relates to what I wrote above!

much love to SD and all my family, next up tomorrow morning, Florida for an awesome portrait session for a very special family:) . katina

Wow, talent doesn’t fall far from the tree – nice photos of you…who took those again? :-)
Sounds repetitive, but great job again, and the storyline was touching! You did bring it to life.
