the boho owlet – 1

Welcome to the first installment of ” The Boho Owlet!” As many of you know I recently have my first child and he has been a HUGE blessing and inspiration in my life….as have many items to help me be the BEST Mommy I can be! So with that being said, I decided every Wednesday I would feature three items that I LOVE and that have been a huge help for baby and me! Also for a first time Mommy (since we know less) or the seasoned Mommy I thought blogging new products and helpful tips are always good to know. Now all you have to do is to visit my blog and find items that may help you!

So the search began with a name! This has been a collection of ideas and as for the name I thought I would explain as to why I named it “The Boho Owlet!” I put a request out on Facebook asking for some ideas with a little prize attached to it! I had also mentioned that ever since my son was born (for some odd reason) I would make a little owl noise Whooo whooo” and he would smile! So I thought what better animal to have as our mascot! As for the winners I used two of the entries and put them together! First of all, I believe it was Maria on Facebook (can’t find the comment now due to the new facebook timeline) who suggested Owlet, which is what a baby owl is called! Then Tina suggested Boho knowing that one of my families nationalities is Bohemian (YES, it really is not only a way of life but a nationality). So, I combined the two and came up with the name! Maria and Tina please contact me for your mini session prize! Whala “The Boho Owlet” was born!

So without further a due let’s get to the products! Since my baby is almost four months now, I may skip around as far as items that were helpful in the beginning but not as much now since he is older. This first product has been a GOD SENT!!! Even from birth to now his swing is his favorite thing…and mommy’s too since I can get some work done! This one seems to be a baby favorite and you can purchase it here from Buy Buy Baby!

This next product was one on the smartest things I could have done! Recommended from my friend Tina, this Medela pump is hospital grade. It is the same one I had in the hospital and was strong enough to help when my milk came in. I understand breast feeding is not for everyone, but I mainly pump and this machine has allowed me to get the job done so my little man has his Mother’s milk! Since this machine is on the spendy side I have been renting it! Yes, did you know you can rent these puppies! I could have rented from the hospital but it was a little more expensive per month so I rented from Modern Mommy in Chandler! Check them out for all sorts of great items for you and your little one! Be sure to reserve yours since they rent them out for months at a time;) Oh and as a little tip ask when you are in the hospital ask to use the pump and KEEP THE attachments they give you! It is a $50 value and will fit the machine (as long as it is the same one).

The next two items go with us EVERYWHERE!!! The binkie was from the hospital and has a special vanila scent that you CANNOT buy anywhere else. The people at BB Baby said that the Soothie they give you in the hospital are the only ones that come scented! So STOCK up while in hospital! We didn’t know that so we have managed to keep the SAME one thanks to the Binkie Bungee!!! This item was also a life saver. It was a gift but click on the link to find it on Amazon! Make sure if you get a different one that it has some elastic on the end to fit through the Soothie hole. Otherwise if it is a clip it will not work with that pacifier!

I hope many of you will find these weekly posts of value and I would LOVE to have guest bloggers and or suggestions on new products that I am unaware of as well so feel free to leave me your thoughts! They just may make it into the blog post;) Remember to come back every Wednesday (or anytime you like) for the next TBO post!

And to sign off of each post is my little Boho Owlet himself enjoying his swing!

xoxo

LOVE the name and the logo, Katina!! And love that you’re writing about your fav baby items! Can’t wait to read more! :) I’ve loved my Medela Pump and Style although I only use it at weddings and right before I go to bed since I nurse Bree the rest of the day. One thing I can’t live without though and hopefully you’ve already found it is the Medela Hands-free Bustier. It frees up my hands so I can work while I pump! If you don’t have one go out and buy one immediately! You will love it! :) Can’t wait to see your 3 items next week! PS…We didn’t like our swing so I’m bookmarking this page for whenever we have baby #2! :)
